So here's the deal. I have downsized to one tank at my home, which is a 135g (6ft). I let my dad have my 90g setup along with the coolest fish that I have, an adult male Festae that is currently about 12"-13" (maybe larger). In my setup I have a community due to the fact that I could not justify one fish in a tank that size. I'm sure he would murder anything I tried to put with him. Anyway, I have a 6-7" blue acara (awesome color), An 8" female temporalis (had it since it was about 1/2"), a pair of small sajica, and some various other fish: chalceus and clown loaches. My dilemma is my Festae seems to be a little cramped in his 90gal. I would never get rid of him as I have also had him since he was about 3" (got him from Rapp's). I would put him in the 135 and I know he would be fine but as I said before... I also hate to give up my inhabitants in the 135. I know the obvious answer would be to get more tanks, but that isn't an option. I guess my questions are:

1. Does anyone really think the Festae is cramped in a 90?
2. What are some suggestions of what to add to the 135 as another mid-sized cichlid?

I will post a pic of my Festae when I get to my comp. at home

Personally, at that size the festae should be fine, as long as filtration and all that is good. If you want to add something with the acara and the rest, I'd look into other small CA like rainbow cichlids or Thorichthys. Larger fish like a severum are an option too.

great looking male
:naughty:

should be fine with excelent filtration and good up keep
:D

Hands down best male festae iv'e seen to date.Dude, you got beat by your dad!!!He got the best fish!!!! And as long as he's not as wide as the tank is,and he can turn around, then he should be good.

Thanks, but like I said, I had a hard time justifying one fish in a 6' tank. I think he could get considerably larger if I put him in at 6-footer though.
