For a beat up 225g. 72x24x30 trim is broken and likely needs to be resealed. Im thinking if I could get it for the right it could make a good project, probably start a plywood build using the 2 6' sides.

Anyways just looking for some input because I havent priced out glass in a long time and I fear thats about all its worth

I wouldn't go any higher than 200$. It's a nice size tank but if the trim has to be replaced that can be a problem locating new To reseal is no big deal.

I found this exact tank size and problems about four years ago. Guy wanted 200 for it. I pointed out how I would have to reseal it and talked the man into 100.
I still have the tank, I resealed it. I did not bother with replacing the trim. I just set it up on about 1inch thick Styrofoam.

Thanks for the input. He wants 700 which I explained is far too much. He has posted it on CL for almost 6 months and has come down a ways from 2000 he originally wanted. Maybe he will wake up and just take a reasonable offer. Im really only interested in the front and back pane and will probably build a plywood tank if I can get this at a reasonable price

wow, I havn't paid more than about 1.50 per gallon for a good tank that doesn't need any work. Last two big tanks I bought I paid less than .50 a gallon for. If it had the stand and accessories with it it might be worth more, but even then it dounds as if he wants way too much IMO.
