I have a senegal and an ornate right now and eventually i would love to get all the bichir species but i'm trying to get a feel for what to get next! THANKS!

Get whatever species of bichirs that you see and like. Make sure the sizes are close to your current bichirs.

That's what I do. Any bichirs that I see in the LFS and as long as I got money in the bank or cash in my pocket I'll take that certain bichir. As long as I don't have that certain bichirs or have a unique patterns, body shape or head shape.

lol so basically buy all the bichir types.......any thought on what u would say is the most well behaved bichir? lol people have been telling me ornates are super aggressive but the one i just bought is kind of a sissy.

I think a delhezi would be a nice pickup, but there is a possibility that it will take some nips from your ornate. I had an ornate and sens with no problem-- added a delhezi and the ornate just doesn't seem to like him.

All bichirs have different aggression level but it's usually the ornates that shows the aggressive behavior by nipping other bichirs. You don't really have to worry about their aggression level as they don't even do some critical damage to each other. The only thing that you have to worry about is the size difference as some big hungry bichir will eat smaller skinny skitish bichirs.

Yea my senegal is like 7 inches now and the ornate is about 5 1/2 - 6 inches......I'd love either a Retropinnis, Volta Endli, or a Delhezi........Its just interesting how there are some bichir addicts with totally different size bichirs in the same tank together....isn't that taking a HUGE chance? THanks!

Yeah you can house any lower jaw species in a 120 I'm pretty sure. And dels are great! A palmas polli is nice too.

most definaly a delhezi. mines out and about as much as my sen is, and has an appetite like no other.

or, you could always go for an albino sen. be cool seeing that one white oddball in a tank of dark polys
