Pikes and Freshwater Barracudas?? is it possiable to kepp together? Tank size 55 gallon, and would plan on upgrading when the time is right. Would do you think?

I think the pikes would kill the cuda. They just are not aggressive and pikes are.....they will possibly chase the cuda and if anything stress them. Cuda are very skittish

depends on the pike.....Do you know what you are looking for? But there are alot of options, depending on tank size and type of pike. A 55 is really the limiting factor at the moment but if you plan to upgrade, what are you upgrading to and when?

Well, I would get all my fish when they are stil Juvies for the 55. Once they get up in size Ill prob upgrade to a 125 or 150 gallon. So, like you said my options are open. I'm moving at the end of the month and I'm looking to stock with at least two pikes to grow out..
my orginal 125-150 stock list looked like this:
4 convicts
2/3 pikes
1 pleco
4/5 good size silver dollars
1 jd
1 salvini
1 fire eel

but like I said I'm going to get them small and grow them out so I'm stuck w/ the 55 for now, until the upgrade.

if you sure your going to a 125 or 150, you might be able to try two of the same species of pikes, but from what I hear, 3 at the same time is better to spread aggression. Search the pike section and come back with what you are interested in and more info will follow.

916sacfalcon - Which LFS store in Sac are you going to get your pikes from and which ones are you looking to get?

I usually go to Extoic Aquariuam. But there is this other place downtown that I'll also wanted to check out.

I'll prob end up with the Orange pikes since there the most common around here. Do you know where they got a variety of em' ? are you from the Sacramento area?

Exotic had about 6 of them 2-3 months ago. I think Jojo on Stockton blvd has one young one about 4-5 inches, for under $20 I got one from Jojo about 6 months ago and got it up to about 6-7 inches and as thick as a marker than one day it died, didn't see any physical trama to it. I'm thinking of getting another one but wanted to see if I can maybe get a cobra pike instead. Jojo also has a larger pike they are calling a black lined pike which I think is a Venezualia (SP?), which get fairly big, around the 20-24inch mark.

Yes I am from the area.
