So about 2-3 weeks ago we had an issue in my grow out tank in which my convicts as they do popped baby's and bullyed my young dovii (1.5-2") they killed one over night and that left me with 3 the two pos males which are slightly larger then took up residents at each end of the tank and took to hiding in nice places. The third one slightly smaller took a beating not to bad but enough for me to be concerned and moved him back to my wife community tank ( where they were when they first arrived at 3cm).
So he been in there about 2-3 weeks and is all healed up and is perfectly healthy but as he is a bit smaller I'm keeping him there for now. His growth has picked up although he dosnt eat like the other two and never looks overly interested in food even though I mix there diet.
The question is he just dosnt live up to a dovii. As the largest fish in there surly I should be missing Guppy's and barbs by now?? Instead he just quite content to play fish buddies with them. The other two are now standing up to the convicts and other fish in the grow out. Should I be concerned about him?? Water all good he and the BGK (3") are the biggest fish and they all seem happy ( I'm well aware its a game of when lol)
I hope to have the 180g set up soon and I'll be putting all 3 in there with hope of a pair or I'll try and track a female down but for now I just don't think he is man enough to go in the grow out.
Any thoughts??
