I'm looking for a good air stone pump that is quiet yet strong, currently I'm using an old pump that I'm don't even know what the brand is. I tried an Aquaclear air pump rated for up to 50g and it could barely support the small air stone on my 10g. It was quiet but not strong. Anyone have suggestions.

Basically the only ones that have failed me are the ones at Walmart. But API and Whisper make good ones, I buy ones with the dual outlets and buy a brass T so the dual outlets go into 1 line and its much more powerful!

I have this one and its a freaking monster.

It pumps a extraordinary amount of air for its size and price. Coralife pumps pump about the same amount but probably more but theres no extra noise and massive amounts of heat and to note saves energy.

This is a only one of the outputs connected to a power head and it shoots 1/2 the way on my 220

Hello; I picked up a dual outlet air pump at the local Wal-Mart some months to perhaps over a year ago. I did not want to make the 50+ mile trip to Knoxville TN. The pump feeds plenty of air to three tanks; a 55, a 29 and a ten gallon QT. I also bleed off a bit of air to the room, so it is plenty strong.
I too plumb the dual outlets of air into one line. The pump was not particulary quiet tho. Not the loudest I have ever used however. It was cheap enough. I eventually hung it in the basement and ran a long air line up thru a hole in the floor.

I agree about the Whisper pump from WallyWorld. Very quiet. They do a great job if it is just going to do a couple of tanks. If you need a lot of air and don't mind a little noise the CoralLife linear pump is the best value for the money.

Hailea makes the best from what I've heard. Expensive though.
