I have 2 125g tanks and im looking to get some catfish to put in them with my cichlids. I looking for something that maxes out around 8"-11" inches that way they arnt to big for the tank but also they cant be small enough to get picked on. Any suggestions?

Added note prolly important. My substrate is small pieces of gravel.

I have 2 Red devils in 1 tank and a green terror in the other. They are pansies and they dont attack any tank mates I've ever had with them.

Iridescent sharks wont mind the other fish but they might get too big unless there the runt. Pictus cats get about that big but i dont know if they will get along with chiclids. ornate pimelodus might be good too.

Eclipse catfish, i dont know the scientific name, look pretty cool and max out around that area. I like bull heads they get that big. I dont know but i think the big version of the bumble bee catfish might get a little bigger than that, but it looks pretty good too.

I have 3 Sun Cats in my 125. Also called Eclipse Cats. They are great for that sized tank.

this is from several years ago, but back then I thought pictus cats would be a safe choice with my oscar, but he killed one and ate the other (and then died), so I wouldn't go pictus

don't know from sun cats, but they look like they get bigger than pictus, so maybe that's the way to go . . .

a pleco can be a good choice too . . .

Go for a Lima shovelnose catfish it will get to 18" but it will be fine in a standard 6'x1.5' will be fine and it is pretty mellow as well
