What's a good fish?

Hey guys, I'm kinda new to this so work with me. I've owned fish in the past, (x2 pacu, albino oscar) but I'm wondering what's a good aggressive fish that can live in a 55 gallon. I'm talking something with character, isn't too expensive, and will just entertain.

Ive thought about a ABK.
So if you could help me it would be appreciated.

I have personally always been a fan of the firemouth

A shoal of exodons... or a pair of salvinis (males can get to be pretty big if you actually keep them long enough for it to happen)
