ok so i was gonna do 3 pictus or 3 4 lines but want something different. any suggestions? oh yeah pls only sa or ca catfish. the cichlids are jack dempsey, blood parrot, red texas, green terror. thnx

well, as you have fairly aggressive fish, I'd go with achara or redtail catfish...both types stood their ground and survived against the flowerhorn..but, based upon your tank size in your siggy, you'd need a much smaller cat. Pictus are good. Mine survived after the flowerhorn, and my 28" achara adoped them 1 1/2 yrs ago as his "children"...never attempted to eat them....and, they are good cleaners.

blood parrots won't do anything. Severums can turn real quick. My old one beat up my old oscar so badly that he lost his one eye...and the severum was much smaller. Dempseys are gorgeous, however can never tell how they will turn. Just go to lfs, look around, get something that will stay under 8" and make sure it has a log or cave that it can hide in...and the cichlids can't follow him.

wow nothing yet? i woulda thought this would be an easy subject? i found some i think might work
achara
ornate pim
pacman
pls still give me some advise or recomend some others thnx

and, plan on having those baby pacus in your 125g within the next year or less. I had a pair for 7yrs then gave them away to someone who had a bigger tank (at the time) than my 125g

actually he is going to get fed to the cat if someone doesn't take him soon. i wish i could keep hjim and try to find him a home, but my dad says no:(

achara will def NOT work. Mine's started in the 125g when 6", ate many fish in close quarters...now in the 265g, and has outgrown. Im in middle of upgrading filtration crisis...and considering doing our indoor pond much earlier (townhouse right now btw). I also have an achara x tsn that who knows how big he will be....and a redtail cat, etc etc.

ornate pictus might be ok. They don't get too big, but yet bigger than the polka dot pictus...ones I have....4 1/2 inches full grown....

If your 125g is empty, just put the pacus in there for the time being

and the dempseys get about 10" I believe...and will tear up a lot of fish along the way

why 2 threads started with same topic discussion?????????????

ppl already responded to your earlier thread giving you ideas
