Got a 10" johanna pike cichlid, thought it was to much but bought it anyways. paid $100
did I get screwed or what.

Naw, its a 10" adult. Thats about average, depending on the variant of johanna it is. Is it male or female? Does it have a white stripe in the dorsal fin? If so its a female. ;)

It all depends on your location. In New Jersey where there are a lot of pikes, that price would be high because they are common...but in Mississippi, that price would be low considering they are almost never sold here...;)...I woulda paid it...but i love pikes...ha

You schooled me pretty good on my pricing disclosure. What gives? Just kiddin'.

I also said when I 'schooled' you that if you wanted to get them that was your choice. I know pikes are pretty common down in Texas, which is why i thought the prices were kinda high. I don't know about canada though, so that might be cheap for a pike up there cuz they might not get them that often. If the pikes are what you want, and you want them bad enough, no price is gonna stop you. If you can find a pike for cheaper, then go for it!! Why spend more money on fish when you know you can get them for cheaper. I don't know if aquabid.com is an option for him or not....cuz there is a hell'va deal on johanna on there right now.

BTW...in case you didn't notice, I deleted all the posts in that thread about pricing and stuff, was causing a lot of hassle and conflict, which was unnessicary.

Being in sales i always have one reply when people say "I paid ...is that a good price?", "are you happy with the product?" "yes" "can you afford what you paid?" "yes" "then it was a great buy". No matter what you pay chances are if you wait or are willing to drive far enough you can get a better price. so quite simply dont worry about it. if you like the fish and it didnt brake you then it was a good buy. Anything is only worth what your willing to pay for it. a new ferrari enzo for 100,000 is a great buy "market standards" but its not worth 100,000 to me, cause i can't afford to pay 100k for any car. its all relative.
