I was wondering how big a female FH should be to begin breeding. I'm not nearly close since I lack a partner for it but I was just wondering. It's currently 5.5 inches

Also what do u guys think the type of fish of the male partner to this female?
FH?
Texas?
Midas?
Idk rest

5.5 inches is great for breeding. Egg quality will get a bit better as it matures but breeding at this size allows for a longer breeding career for her.

For a male, I would go with a faded male Flowerhorn similar to your female or a SRT male. You may also get some nice fry with a good fertile male Kamfa if you can find one.
