Hello, monsters — joined a while back but never posted before; didn't think I was a Monster Fishkeeper, but I keep being referred back here. The most recent was for info on some Uruguayan cichlids: Cichlasoma sp. "La Palma" (max size 3"! Monster?). So maybe the fact that I have 15 tanks, over 200 gallons and about 12 species that I'm working up to breeding makes me a "Monster", after all.
I've got several types of angels I'm growing out: pinoy paraiba and platinum pearlscale predominate, and there are also some DD Black veils that keep looking like they're going to spawn.
I also have 6 species of plecos in process: L144, L129, L183, L270, L034, "Super Red" BN
Separate tanks for both Gold and Blue Rams, and two varieties of apisto in with some of the angels: cacatuoides "Orange Flash" and agassizi "Double Red"
Panda corys keep multiplying in my community tank, but I haven't ever pulled any out

Monster is attitude ... and if you have a few monsters even better attitude....... we love all fish.. and all members are welcome.. just bring along a willingness to learn and enjoy and that is monster enough.. welcome to mfk

there's all sorts of back and forth about what defines a monster, be it size, attitude, blah blah blah. Not everyone here has fish you can ride around on, or man eaters, but from the looks of your collection I say close enough

Thanks, all! I do feel properly welcomed!

More has never meant bigger for me, Vanimal — in fact my two latest "wild hairs" have gone smaller, yet: a Tanganyika 10gal with 5 *Neolamprologous occelatus 'shellies', and a heavily planted Burmese 10gal with a dozen Danio erythromicron "Emerald dwarf danio" and some panda Garra. The only truly BIG fish I have is a common Pleco, in my 72gal community tank that just keeps getting bigger; he's about 9" and growing. I've already given one like it away, but my wife loves the monstrosity and has forbidden me to get rid of this one.
Maybe that makes HER the Monster Fishkeeper!
