OK so I'm currently gathering tools (clamps) for my build I'm starting in a fortnight a 8x4x2.5
Any way I don't exactly want to run into water issues or overstocking and well I have never had a tank bigger then 180g and the fish I'm planning on putting in I really don't know what's overstocked for a 600
So my planned stock is
4 peacock bass (growing now)
4 tinfoil barbs (growing now)
1 Senegal birchir (growing now)
1 motoro stingray (acquiring after tank built)
1 silver arowana or saratoga Leichhardt (depending on what's available and cash flow)(silvers not cheap in Oz)(after tank is built again)

Is this already overstocked?
I would like to add a tandanus catfish if I can catch a big one (not likely) and maybe another Ray hopefully get a pair going and finally possibly a Oscar
Thanks turtles

Just a comment on the bichir. The sen may become a snack since most captive bred sens stay pretty small. I would look more toward an endlicheri or ornate as your choice of bichir. These will get large enough to be able to live comfortably with the large mouthed predators.

As mentioned I could easily see your Sen getting eaten by one of many of the fish in that tank.

As for stocking, water issues is just a matter of having enough filtration and doing enough water changes, and I don't think your tank would be to over stocked.

Well I can keep him in the 6x2x2 for his safty I can't really go get another birchir there not common here nor cheap but I can look around and hope I have some luck :) cheers for the heads up

Ahhhhh, you are in Ausi, yea given the cost of poly's over there I definitely would not dream of risking it with the stock that you have listed there.

Sounds like a nice tank and not overstocked. Those fish will enjoy the room

Not overstocked one bit. Just run some good filtration those pbass are gonna have ferocious appetites as they get big

That's awsome to hear thanks guys! Glad it's not overstocked :) yea polys are very pricey I got my senegal for 350 and that's cheap as chips here :) i m really excited alot of new experience ahead first monster tank and first Ray cheers again
