is a pike really a cichlid.. what the most mild-manner that good with tank mates and does not huge like 12+

There are pikes and then there are pike cichlids. Two very different fish, similar common names.
I don't know much about pikes, but I do know that you'll have a hard time finding a pike that doesn't grow fairly large unless you look at dwarf pikes.
When you say good with tankmates, what kind of tankmates do you mean? And what size tank is it? That would be helpful. A tankmate could be an oscar or a guppy... a pike might live with one but eat the other.

A 75 gallon is the bare minimum for an oscar by itself, so I definitely wouldn't advise adding a pike cichlid to the tank.
you could do a belly crawler pike. stay small like 6-8 inches but a upgrade would be needed in the future but most pikes are real bullys. They dont care how big the fish they stand their ground. My pike backs down a wolf fish
