What's a sump?

Hi everyone I've just been looking around and saw that almost everyone has a sump, and was just wondering what is a sump and of I should get one for my 75 or my future +240. thanksfor all the advice.

I was about to post this very same thing but for my (apparently overstocked) tank! Maybe some extra filtration will help.

If you can do it, I'd get one especially for a big tank. It gives you many more filtration options. I unfortuantely don't have one, but when I do, I'm getting an algae turf scrubber to go in it. Check that out too!

thanks everyone, do you think it's worth it to have a sump and risk that if something goes wrong it would go really wrong cause you have to drill a hole in the tank. thanks
