iv just read that apparently red eyed flowerhorns arnt fertile? could someone please elaborate....
I have heard of the red eyes increasing the chance that they are fertile. But I have never heard about the chemical thing. I wouldn't think most do, maybe some. Do you think they would sell you a sterilized FH if it said proven female or male? Because usually if someone is looking for a proven male or female they are going to breed them.Shoujin;4292153; said:These are just inherited traits. All though the odds of a FH/Trimac/RD being fertile by birth are very much high if they have red colored eyes.
But most of the time the yellow/white eyed FH's are sterile. Rarely its the opposite.
Now the breeders add some chemicals to the FH with red eyes before shipping ( atleast most of em do) to make them sterile.
Source : Got this info from breeders.
( I literally waited 6 months just to get a male king kamfa with red eyes. Now i am praying he is fertile)
