To make a long story very short... i need to move to a new location. I have several fresh water tanks and a salkt water tank. What is the best way to move locations with the tank? I really love all my fish and i dont want to loose any.

I've moved my fish several times. How big are your tanks? How many fish? How big are the fish? How far is the move? Give us a little more info, and we can help more.

I've used 5 gallon buckets and rubbermaid bins to move mine in. How many fish per bucket/bin depends on size, obviously. You want to lightly stock the bins so the water quality doesn't get too bad too quickly. For the bigger fish, I've planned ahead and cured sponge filters in my tanks. I put a small hole in the rubbermaid/bucket lid and ran the sponge filters with a battery-powered air pump. Never lost a fish to a move. :)

sure. i have to move couple of miles. i have three 55 gal and a two 30 gal that is fresh water, and a 75 gal that is salt. i have like 45 fish 6 are salt. the smallest fish i have fresh water is about 4in and the largest of the fresh water about 8 in, as for salt the smallest is like 1 in to the bigest beng about 6in.

thx for the help.

Best thing I've found is have a x-tra tank leveled and ready to go at your new residense, bring fish, filters, and as much water as possible over, and use it as a holding tank till you get your old tank set up.

I second the 5 gallon bucket for all the fish that will fit. With only a few miles to move you should be fine with water quality. Ive used battery powered air pumps for longer moves. Make sure you know where the tanks will go in the new place and do a "test run" to make sure you can get water to all of your tanks. Nothing is worse than moving to find out you need just 2 more feet of hose for your Python to reach a large tank and everything around you is closed. for the salt, try to have enough fresh saltwater already mixed and heated at the new place so you don;t have to waste time getting it mixed up.
