It would never eat very much, even shrimp or tilapia, but I got some massivore and all of the sudden it started eating pellets 
It'll eat other sinking pellets now, too.
The bad news is that it's starting to get HITH again (had recovered from a previous bout before I got it). Ever since I moved, I've had problems w/ the tank it's in. I'm slowly removing fish as I can, hoping to decrease the bio-load. I wish I could put it in the 300 w/ the p-bass. I'm going to do more water changes now. Could it be because of it not eating or is it just the little bit of ammonia?
