What's going on with my Dovii's body shape?

It seems like every Dovii I see has a football shaped body. My Dovii's shape seems more elongated and more straight all the way across. Is he a variant from a different locale than others? I like him a lot don't get me wrong. It's just that he's different than most that I've seen. Is he just too skinny or something? Does he just need fattening up? I bought him as an adult btw so I don't know his origin. Any info or opinions would be appreciated. Thanks.

How big is he? Maybe they bulk up as they get bigger?

I'm only feeding him once a day. Maybe I should step it up to twice a day? He takes about 12-14 Massivore pellets. I feed all the other fish twice a day but the other feeding is NLS pellets which he won't touch.

he looks like a lago nicaraguan morph, so he will have a more slender/elongated body anyway.
 
Dovii from different locations have different coloration as well as body shape. If I remember right, Honduran dovii are more elongated.
 
the costa rican are thicker and deeper bodied and dont get as much blue/red hue on the body also tend to get a bigger nuchal hump then the lago nicaraguan variant.

the lago nicaraguan variant dont get as deep bodied but have more blue/red hue on the body.

I've heard this as both ways. Which one is it really? Honduran or Nicaraguan that's the longer one? And also even those are more football shaped. Like this one off Rapps' website for example.

Acutally Mbuna, the one in your avatar looks kind of like mine in shape. Do you have a profile shot?

You answered my question while I was finding that pic. Are you 100% sure that's correct?
