Bass are typically ambush predators so anything that you can put close to cover or weedlines work well. Spinnerbaits, carolina/texas rigs, topwater baits like buzz baits, topwater frogs are usually what I stick to when bass fishing.

this might sound dumb/cruel, but i hear that jewel cichlids work great because of their colours and size. it's just like using minnows if you breed them.

Throw a 4inch grub on a 1/8oz jig head you will get bass.

Tie a stick to a hook and paint it, seriously though bass really will hit anything that moves. That is why there are so many bass lures. Its more about hitting the rigth types of cover then what's on the end of your line. Bass are not picky eaters.
