Names Jake Im 23 and live in Midland Michigan
New to the hobby, and I have quickly learned that its addicting. I was lucky enough to purchase a 125 gallon tank, an under gravel filter, two aqauclear 70 gallon power filters, some reddish substrate, and a stand/cabinet to hold it all at the divorce price of 250. At first everyone was telling me to go with African cichlids, but I have quickly fallen for new world cichlids. Right now I have 2 black convicts (one of them being the dominant fish in the tank), one Firemouth, 2 parrots (my girlfriend suprised me with them and I dont like them really at all) all they do is hide all day, and one pictus catfish. Ohh yeah I also have about 15 rosies from the original cycle....5 have disappeared.
I plan on adding a jaguar real soon, also i would like to add a jack dempsey or an electric blue JD. I want to upgrade my filtration but money is tight right now. I have also been looking at some videos on youtube and really like the way sand looks.....or black gravel....I am undecided on which way to go.
