hows everyone doing?

Im Zach from Sneads Ferry, NC. had a 55g FW setup since i was 9. got out for a while when i joined the Marines in 2004. Getting out soon and starting back up again.

let me say i have always had petsmarts "finest" my whole life and this place has opened my eyes to some crazy unseen things. i think im going to start with 2 "Ctenolucius Hujeta" and see where i go from there this time around. ive been looking around here and have grown fond of the bichir and sterlets(baby sturgen), and some others but im starting small and will see where i get.

thanks ahead of time for all the goodness you guys have to offer

Welcome to MFK, I am sure you will have a great time around here. What size tank are you going to start with? You will find members here with tanks ranging from less than 1 gallon to over 50,000 gallons (yes, really!). If you want to keep sterlets, do you have any thoughts on a pond? They need a lot of cold, clean water. The hujeta gars are easier to care for. Have a look around and introduce yourself!

since i am still new to the "rarer" breeds if you will i couldnt figure out where to discuss barracuda in. also is there a "dumbies" guide to everything here. all these scientific names and things throw me off

lol, you will learn to use scientific names in no time. They are better than common names, since common names are different depending where you are. And if you really do have a question, start up a thread and post it. Most of us will be happy to help you as quickly as possible
