hi all, figured i would share a couple pics snapped this evening - richard and i were busy with some field trips this weekend and here are some of the spoils (took quite a bit of effort just to get a couple fish today, yesterday was much better). you can get an idea of scale from the air pump in the second pic. apologies for crappy phone pics!

MODS - please move to media lounge - not sure how it got posted here :P

will try to update with more in the future--

Here is another..... BTW Sol I forgot My Diaphanus down at the station... OOPS.
If ya can keep an eye on them for me till I can get to them.

I'm guessing that you're referring to a banded killifish a.k.a gar food? :grinno:

great shot richard! i will have to snap some pics when i drop the LNGs off at the station later today - i will bring the bandeds back up to The Tank and try to maintain them here.

Ryan - you will be better off with a dip net for YOY LNG (or any gar YOY) than a cast net...that and cast nets are not easy to work with for gars - that comes from John (snookn) and others with whom i have discussed that issue.

but yeah, we have a nice group of spotteds and a couple LNG from the weekend's field trips. unfortunately we still need a few more LNG!!!--

PS - for size reference the larger LNG is well over 24", and the largest couple SPGs are around 70cm--

How did you guys collect your adult/sub-adult LNG?

I've been struggling here in my state to land them while fishing since my connect didn't flesh out. The population here is definitely nocturnal (and they're spawning), and I've been getting hits on shrimp but can't hook them, and if I try using a rope lure/spinnerbait get up they aren't interested in striking (prob. because the spoon is less effective during night hours).
