What's it mean when a Jardini gets really dark?

I am mixing and matching trying to get my Silver's and Jardini to live harmoniously together. The Jardini has a pretty dark spine to begin with (which is what I liked about him). But, with the tank light on I can see his scales becoming black, and his scales shining like armor. When I switch off the light, he starts biting and his spine becomes pitch black. It looks awesome, though a bit scary! Do they change color when they're aggression builds up? Will it ease down, or should I worry that he might have a panic attack if he stays this dark?

To note, he hasn't been biting with the light on as I try to get them to live together.

does sound odd but pics of both situations would be helpful.

no there colors do not change as they get angry or aggressive
as they are inherently aggressive
post up a pic may be we can help or learn what is happening

Interesting. I would like to see more.

Wow I'm surprised nobody has seen this before! I'll take a pic in a few days when I try to pair the Silver and Jardini in the same tank again. I'm gonna get a bigger tank in a few days, and will have before/after pics of the darkness of the Jardini. I'm surprised nobody has seen this before. His spine goes from a dark grey to pitch black, that literally is scary and intimidating even to me.
