Which do u consider to be more important in an aquarium, the fish or the tank display? im have a empty 10g that im considering on stocking, but having conflicting feelings about it.

The fish :D

IMO barebottom tanks look nice...add some crispy clear water that makes your fish look like they're floating and you get a really "clean" feeling

I love many fish, so to me it doesn't matter the stock. What makes a good impression for me is the setup. Because truthfully anyone can buy pretty, expensive or rare fish and throw them in their tank. But it takes imagination and a lot more work figuring out an intricate setup for the fish. It's how you market your fish, it's the same with marketing schemes. An example are sunglasses, why are sunglasses that are in a special box more expensive than ones without the box. It's the setup, look and feel to the box that makes them seem more 'elegant' as opposed to those just laying in one of those displays.

the combination.

I agree its a combination of the two, although at the same time, imo, if you have great looking fish in a bare tank it makes it just as boring as having boring fish...

its both in a way. i love a very natural look and dont care about what fish are in it if it looks tacky. fish are important because i hate really nice setup with nothing but goldfish in it. lol

its definataly about the setup. a clean breathtaking setup will make any fish look lucky and beautiful.

I'd say it's definitely a combination. A beautifully aquascaped tank with no fish looks boring, and I can say the same about a rare fish in an empty tank.

Interaction is my favorite thing, and in all of my tanks, I create an environment where fish can interact with their surroundings, and if they don't, I just rescape the tank until they do.

both, but in this case i care about the fish appeal..
