Hi ,

your catfish looks to be chrysichthys ornatus

it will get to approx 8" and is predatory. i have seen these in my lfs recently and was considering one.
they appear quite docile in character. i would consult planet catfish for more detailed advice.

Cheers buddy ive looked on there but didnt have much to go on,suppose i should have just posted the pics on there as im a member lol

your welcome , there is a species profile on planet catfish, although there is probably some people that keep the fish on here , as id quite like to hear from them about whats its like as a fish before i part with the cash!!

This info is correct Steve.
Iv'e kept them many years ago and found them very agreeable with other fish, that said once they do reach adult sizes 8-10 inches long the mouth becomes huge in proportion to the body so choose tank mates accordingly.
Good luck.
Richard.
Ps nice example by the way.

Cheers richard, they had two, dont know if i should go and get the other lol
Im growing him up with the discus for now and then he will go in with the dats and bichirs when hes big enough,do they grow quickly?
