What's on the Menu for the Clown?

I have been feeding my guy shrimp pellets and sometime tetramins. He really like the shrimp pellets though. I am really not too sure what else to feed him....I need idea's from people....Anyhow, when is a good time to introduce him to gut loaded feeders? I want him to learn how to hunt, but am only feeding him quarintined gut loaded feeder maybe once a week or so.

i feed mine mosquito fish caught from my local damn! he goes through roughly 200 a week! which sounds stoopid, but i think my pacu helps him out..there of female guppy size, so there not huge... and he loves them... try him on small feeders at first then move on to larger feeders, usually a few large feeders a week will be sufficient...never stop with frozen foods either tho...good to have variety

I feed mine an asortment of things. Salmon, market shrimp, deer heart, earthworms, squid, octopus, oysters, and crab. He loves them all, his favorite is the shrimp and salmon though. I dont think it matter when you start feeding him live food, they will always have the instinct to kill and eat it.
I started feeding mine live food when he was about 6 inches long, but you can hold off longer. Its healthier for them to eat unliving food in most situations, buts its so fun to watch them eat live fish though!

I've got mine on sinking pellets, prawn, mussle and cockle.

My first CK ate flake and beef heart. The one I have now I'm weaning off feeders, I don't want any parasite/disease problems so he's being taught to eat earthworms and beef heart. It's fun to watch him chew up a worm.

Bloodworms, FD Shrimp, cut pieces of fish. I only feed my fish feeders once a month and sometimes less. I don't want them to expect live all the time.

Nice, thanks... I like the opinions. I'll try some shrimp and cut pieces of fish. I tried beef heart but of no interest Anyhow, try and try again!

My clown eats everykind of food I throw in there. Beef heart, Deer Heart, Shrimp, Krill, Massivore Pellets, Bloodworms, live feeders, everything.
