So I'm shopping for a bigger tank, I'm hoping for a 200-300, but my options are open, I came across this 100gal, for cheap-ish, and I'm wonder what the advantage of this shape is?

As you can see it is an "L" shape. (Not my pic or tank, yet)

See what?

It is an L shape, not like a standard rectangle shaped tank, I'm wondering why they made it this way, and is there an advantage?

Too me it seems like a waste of space behind it.

Oh ok. I thought you were suppose to post a photo of some sort 'coz you said "As you can see"

I guess its a matter of taste. L tanks are usually custom and made to the customer's specifications. Advantage? I guess more swimming space is the only advantage. I mean fish can turn on a dime and a 90 degree turn shouldn't be too hard for them.

they are more just a different look.... no real advantage to them

I'm guess that at some point that tank worked very well with someone's house design and thats why it was built... but you could build that into a sweet bar of some sort... just an idea.

that would be the ultimate home bar. theres no benefit. its just the shape of the tank. it would look good in a corner.
