I am thinking of getting two fx-5's to help with my bio load on my 400 gallon. right now I'm running a wet/dry sump powered by a dart pump 3600gph and a ehiem professional canister and 4 air stones. Is there a better filter available then a fluval fx-5? Money is not really an issue, just want quality and performance. thanks.

Fluval FX5s get great reviews. You can get them fairly cheap on ebay, around $200 or so.

eheim.. big eheims.. 2080 pro 3 I highly recommend.. they did a comparison between the FX5 and the 2080 and the result was that the 2080 is better, but not so much better that is motivates the difference in money.. it is a little bit more efficient but costs a lot more basically.. the FX5 is noisier though.. jmo

Ehiem you get what you pay for

and that is what I should have said instead of wasting words.. haha..

Eheim 2080 is a great choice, I personally am not a fan of the FX5's performance. The bigger eheims are going to be a much better choice though. I personally prefer the 2262/2260 line. Very powerful, huge bio-capacity, and great filtration.

I don't think you would be disappointed, I have one on a 180 with a fluval 404 and it works great, I recommend that you pm clgkag, he lives locally and owns a 450 gallon with a pair of fx5's, since his tank is heavily stocked his opinion would be from experience rather that guessing from some guys who do not have a similar sized tank..

I say 2 Modded Fx5s will be your best choice. :) They will kick the 2080 out of the water.
