Hi all,
Over summer i'm going to be raising funds to fill this tank properly. But for now i want to use it to raise some feeders. The tank is 6 x 2 x 2.5. It's out in the garage and will have basic lighting. I want something to breed as feeders for my other tank... Do you reckon guppies are my best option? And how many as a starter set? I was thinking 50 or so?

you could also try mollies or guppies. with the amount of tank space you have you should be able to breed both. but you are going to need to heat the tank. you can do that right ?

Mollies & Guppies is a no no. Mollies eat guppie babies babys along with there own.
I would say 50 guppies would do it or more if you like. If it is about 74-76F in your house I think you dont need to heat it. But if you dont, then heat it to about 77F. Feed Flakes with a 15% weekly WC. 3 times a day feeding. Good luck

Yuh that was pretty much the plan (Adam011)

It's for feeding p bass, aro, catfish, dats.... They've all taken danios and tetra before, so thinking guppy is a good bet...

I think heat wise it'll be ok, i've had guppies breed in a vase outside before?

i'd go with some kind of cichlid unless you really wan't guppies
