I'm shopping for a 125-150gal tank combo my tanks stand is warping and i dont trust the tank now sealants streched i have a oceanic bow that is great i'm looking at another oceanic 125g long it looks great but is there a better tank manufacturer that i should look at i would prefer first hand knowledge from the members who have larger glass tanks or should i go acrylic ?

help me decide beause i dont want make the same mistake also take into consideration my foor under the carpet is cement with dips thats what caused my tank stand to twist and warp..

I have had 55's by Perfecto and All-Glass, 75's by All-Glass and Oceanic and now a 135 Oceanic. IMO Oceanic makes the best of the bunch........of course they are also the most expensive.

I prefer the Oceanic then the All-Glass and finally the Perfectos. I know quite a few people with GlassCages tanks but some of them are quite unhappy with thier tanks so I have never tried them.

In other words acrylic is better than glass unless you are using gravel which will scratch up your acrylic tank. There's nothing wrong with using sand in a glass tank. But it would look much better in a acrylic tank. :naughty:

I am sidestepping the question just to point out something that you may not have considered. it is fairly easy to completely reseal your existing tank. Instead of discarding the one you have after getting the new one you can reseal it and DYI a tank stand out of 4x4 uprights and 2x6 runners capped with 5/8" marine grade ply and 1/4" fine grain cork board. That will take care of any fear of warping. Another thing to consider is that any stand you buy will be subject to the same long term stress so you should think about setting the new stand on a pad made by laying a 1/4"-3/8" layer of cork board covered by 1/2"-5/8" ply cut a couple inches longer and wider than the stand laid down on the carpet. For best apearrance you can cover this with floor tiles and use bead moulding on the exposed edges.
