What's the best kind of homemade pleco cave?

I want to try to make my own pleco cave. I use driftwood right now but the problem is my other fish steal the food that's meant for my pleco.

I have 1 5" sunshine pleco. What's the best kind of homemade cave for him? What materials would you recommend? I was thinking of going to home depot and have them cut some slate to make a triangle shape cave for him. I want it to be big enough for him to freely swim in it but small enough so my other fish can't steal his food.

Use slate, it works the best IMO

If your LFS has aquascaping materials, you can look for a rock that looks like or could be used as a cave.
