I was thinking of starting a native fish tank in my 210 but something that doesn't get too big. And fishes with lots of color
Suggestions?

Huge fan of Longears. There are many varieties of Longears and only will get to about 9 inches each. Tons of personality just like cichlids too! In a 210 you could keep a bunch of them too. You sure got a clean slate there :) You will have fun with whatever you put in there!

Get some pickerel or smb. I find bluegill boring lol theyre too much like cichlids

Also if Longears 9inches is too big for you, the northern longear can only get 5 inches and there is also the incredibly colorful Dollar sunfish. They cap out at 5 inches too I believe. Also look at Orangespotted, Bluespotted, and Banded Sunfish. ^.^ good luck!

As others have said, panfish make a great display. Great personality and social structure. Really anything up to chain pickerel would be a good fit. LMB, pike, musky, walleye and the like are too big. Personally I like American eels, bullhead, burbot, chain pickerel and panfish. Burbot can be harder to care for so unless you really want one I would leave it out. A small school or yellow perch can be a nice display too

Wow, thanks guys
I know my local fish store can't sell these kind of fish, so where to get them?
R they all legal to keep in Wisconsin?
