I am getting some stuff in my sump from when the filter socks overflow. I was wondering, whats the best way to clean it out? The sump almost on the ground, so i'm not sure how well a siphon would work. Could I just take out my bio media, and use a net?

im assuming you are running a W/D filter in your sump. You could get some pump, attach a hose to the pump and spray the bio media and rinse all the nasty stuff down. You might want to turn of your return pump to prevent those stuff from getting pump back up into your main tank

once every couple of months i just syphon using a garden hose and empty my sump then fill it up with fresh water it gets rid of left over silt but i fill it from the tank so as not to shock the media however every week i clean my sponges and filter sock

i bought a bunch of ghost shrimp to do it for me.
they do a pretty good job, also threw in a snail colony just incase the shrimp werent doing their jobs
