i recently bought a 14 inch armatus and hes a beast. anyway i dumped him in my 75 gallon for overnight. tomorrow he is going into my 180 gallon. what would be the best way to transfer him over? i was thinking something like a trout net. i have a long handled fish net but im afraid he will jump out of it before i get him to the 180.

No matter what tool you use the arm will not like it and it will thrash and either get it's teeth caught in the net,or it will injure it's fine scaled skin due to the violent squirming. The best way to go about moving them in my experience is to wait them out and capture them at night long after they've gone to sleep. They still thrash a little but not as much.

Do you guys have prawn bags there? I have not seen those fail or end up in injured fish

I've never heard of them but they sound like they might be worth looking into and keeping some around.

maybe ill try the 5 gallon bucket just laying on the bottom and hope he swims in and have a lid ready to quickly cover the opening. think it will work?
