I HEARD OF MONSTER DMEPSEYS REACHING OVER 10 INCHES AND EVEN SEEN A VID ON YOUTUBE WERE THE GUY CLAIMED IT TO BE 13 INCHES, POST PICS OF YOUR LARGE DEMPSEY IF YOU HAVE ONE CUZ I BEEN TO A GOOD AMOUNT OF FISHSTORES AND NEVER SEEN ONE BIGGER THAN 7 INCHES FOR SALE, THATS JUST ME THO
 
id love to see a pic of tht, the ones that r big on youtube seem to be very lethargic tho, can anyone else disgreee with that based on personal experience
 
No pics but my first fish was a dempsey and he grew to 10"
 
I've seen a 12" male. I've owned a 11.5" measured out of the tank. Dude was like 10yrs old...tornado hit and my power went out for 2wks didn't make it. He was somewhat active, but def no spring chicken. I had one 5 incher 3 months ago, but my friend liked him alot more than I did so I gave the JD to him. I'm on this parachromis kick these days.
 
dempsey.JPG heres mine now at about 4 and a half inches, hes a beggar everytime I come to the tank, if im far away and hes watchin me ill put my arm up toward the ceiling and hell get super excited and start attacking the glass,its funny just hope he stays like tht

Nice pair! Mine needs a girlfriend, and then I'd need a 125. He's grown since the video above. JDs can get big but it takes a while.
My new light turns the tank into a blue light special.

props , nice tank^, you seem like u take care of ur fish clean water and all , very neat. beautiful Dempsey, how bigs the tank?
