I have a 12 gallon tank, and i want to upgrade it to a 75 gallon. My mom thinks that would be to much weight to have upstairs, but i think it will be fine.

How much weight can a load barring wall hold on a 10 year old house?

all depends on local building codes

too many variables to accurately answer.

just because someone 'says it will be fine' does not mean it won't damage your floors over time depending on the situation

you really need an assesment from a qualified structural engineer to be sure.

having said that, a 75 IS a tank that many do have upstairs in many houses, so take it for what its worth..

but every house is different, thats the problem..

been a carpenter for 18 years 75 gallon will be fine put it on a outside wall and you will have no problems :headbang2
