So I was looking at CL and I saw this deal on a 55 gallons drilled tank. It is....

drilled with a 2" bulkhead on the bottom (So you would have to cut a 2"-3" hole into the stand for plumbing)

What does this mean? Do I need to plug it up with something or connect a canister filter to it? Sorry I'm new to this, only used hang-on filters before. Thanks for reading, and if this is in the wrong section then sorry again and MODs please move it to the proper place.:nilly:

It is use to connect pipes for the plumping of a sump.

You can use it for whatever you want and having a hole in the tank is a very valuable resource. If you are not going to be using a canister filter or be installing a sump on this tank the bringing the bulkhead fitting to loses and asking someone for help with plugging the hole would be best if you are not experienced in plumbing and the basics (too much to type on an iPhone).

Good luck!

If it has bulkheads you can put caps into the bulkheads. This will keep them available to you later if you want to use them.

You may want to put a cap in both the bottom and top to add an extra safety margin.
