Okay guys, here's the deal. I am setting up a new tank and have started to shop for supplies. Most important thing I am looking for is the heater. I have heard amazing stuff about the Jager heaters. So I started my info search via our awesome World Wide Web. Low and behold, I start to hear alot of negative things about the Jager heaters (burning out quickly, frying tanks, not submersible, etc.) With regards to the submersible issue, according to the company site, it's fully submersible but the actual label on the product states not to submerge below a specific line on the heater itself. Looking for any info or input. Looking to get the 200w

Been using ebo jagers for nine years now and haven't had one fail. I have both older and newer models and all of them are submersible. Stealth heaters are good too if you're still worried about ebo jagers.

I have a Ebo Jager and it is not submersible, and made of glass. Works fine.

But for me, I prefer the Stealth which is encased in plastic & has auto shut off when out of water. One better than the Stealt is the Rena SmartHeater which is also encased in plastic but also has a light to let me know its working.

I like plastic because my tanks also have an aquatic turtle each of them and sometimes the turtles go in a swim frenzy in their tanks & I don't want them to crack the glass heater.

I'd go with a stealth personally, fully submersible, not made of glass....
