like it says. What's the diff. I mean is it like pain pills with different active ingredents or are they all very similar and you pay for a name ?

also if you use stress coat do u need to use a water conditioner

I'm not really sure. Prime is what most people use, because it is more concentrated than other brands. It treats 5 times the water than the old stuff I had, and it isn't any more expensive. Some of them only treat chlorine, while others treat chlorine and chloramine. Prime says it also detoxifies ammonia and nitrite, and many water conditioners also remove heavy metals. Theres a chart with all this stuff on it, I just don't know where it is.

Basically its all hype. Amquel + and prime both take care of chlorine, chloramines, ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate. All others will do chlorine, generally chloramines and many other things they will claim. Then you have pure Sodium thiosulfate, which is strictly a dechlorinator. All others, 5mL/10 Gallons; Prime 5mL/50 gallons; Sodium Thiosulfate 5mL/100 gallons. Stress coat is a dechlorinator, so you won't need to add a different chemical, but stress zyme is not.

Thank you very much i knew something had to be up with this stuff. I just buy Jack's aquarium and pets complelet water conditioner.

the bottle says:

*Makes tap water safe by removing chlorine, chloramines and heavy metals.

*Promotes natural healing with vitamin E and matural ingredients.

*Detoxifies heavy metals such as copper, zinc and lead.

*Replenishes the natural protective slime coat, reducing fish stress.

*A natural water conditioner. Use when changing aquarium/pond water or when setting up new aquariums.

*Promotes the growth or nitrifying bacteria nessasry for establishing a biological filter in new aquariums.

*Removes chlorine/chloramines

*Reduces fish stress.

*Replenishes the natural protective slime coat that may be lost during netting, injury or transport.

*Provides necessary electrolytes, buffers pH and mantains healtier fish.

*16oz. treats 954gal.

sorry if any of that info is a double is wrote what is on the whole bottle minus use instructions. Also I take it this stuff is not to shabby as a water conditioner. And I shouldn't be worried and change to something else, Right?
