What's the difference between Florida and alligator gars???!!!!

Hello all, I haven't kept any real gars but have kept a needle nose. Any way, a lfs has a gar and they think it is an alligator. I have really been wanting a Florida for about a year but there aren't any stores around that have any real gars. I am going down to the store tommarow, and want to get it but only if it is a Florida. What should I look for if it is one or the other? Thanks for any help.:)

need pics to tell what it is. look through some pics of each on here. there is some really distinct pics of them.
 
Could I see 2 comparison pictures of both of them? If it helps, she told me it is almost 2 ft. Is there something about their jaws? Thanks for any help.

hi i have an alligator gar the snout on the gator are shorter and alot wider there is also a big difference in adult size the gator grow huge.
