I am lookin for a african brown knife that is available at my local petsmart..here the deal i was lookin at a website and it had two listing one was "Xenomystus nigri" and "Apteronotus leptorhynchus" i was just wonderin which one woudl be the one for sale at petsmart and instead of askin their "expert sales associates" i figured i would ask the real professionals. thanks for any info givin.

Xenomystus nigri is what your lookin for, brown knife,

Petsmart carries X. Nigri. Nice little knife fish that can get 8" to 12" The average is 8"

ok good. thats the one i will get then. i just needed to kno so i could fiund the info i needed on em...thatnks again guys or gals accordingly lol

Apteronotus is a south american knifefish genera... The same genera of the BGK, A. albifrons. If it is AFRICAN, it's NOT an Apteronotus, isn't it? It MUST be Xenomystus nigri, IMHO. :grinyes:

Best regards.

Daniel.
