Unfortunately I've heard all that has been stated but in the 70's and early 90's it was ignorance and millions of fish in the home aquarium trade suffered and died prematurely. Now in this day and time stupidity on us if we don't do research.

Ugh, wish I kept the pic. I was fossil hunting in the Peace river here in SW Florida a few months back, during dry season. I almost literally could not walk without stepping on one. Thousands of them, everywhere."Everybody needs a pleco."
