Specifically the long finned ones, I was thinking of just getting a pair and letting them do what pairs of cichlids do, which hopefully doesn't mean kill eachother. I was wondering how much I'd be able to sell the offspring for once they do happen to breed. I'm more centered on watching their breeding behaviors since all my other cichlid pairs are either dead or sold, but then I thought I might as well make a bit of pocket money off of it since I do have a couple of tanks and tubs lying around that I can raise fry in.

It's one of the most common fish in the hobby. My LFS always has rams, gold, blue and electric blue, as well as short body rams. They're all males and all grown out, not fry. It would seem the fish farms distribute them as male growouts because that is what sells. Females are not that attractive. I believe they are about $20 each, but I wouldn't pay that.

You could try to grow them out and sell them as M-F pairs or trios to appeal to the niche of people who like to breed their fish. Females can be a bit hard to come by, at least around here. Good luck.
