Whats the Minimum tank size for Black Belts?

Can a bonded pair of black belt cichlids love happily in a 125 gallon 6 foot tank? And if not, are there any vieja/paratheraps thats i could keep as a pair in a 125? I know they all get pretty big...but black belts are my absolute favorite! Thanks all

Understood, i generally dont like to just provide the BARE minimum, id feel better providing something larger in the long run like a 180, i just recently upgraded to the 125, and im in the process of blowing out a section of wall in the basement to make a section of space for a bigger tank but thats going to take a bit of time. The bb's at my lfs are 2.5 inches, i know they grow pretty quick but i want to purchase a group of juvies and grow them out in the 125, once a pair forms, hopefully the basement project will be well under way and close to completion. I really want a pair of these guys theyve been a favorite of mine since i was a young kid lol

Ours grew fast till 8" and has slowed way down. You'll have a long time till they outgrow a 125.

That sounds like a good plan to me. I would like to own a BB one day too. Also your salvini pair in your avatar look amazing!

Awesome! Off to the lfs store :-)! And thanks cichlidfish i appreciate it! Those sals are in their own 75, once they started breeding they never stopped they breed like crazy! Luckily i have a lot of family owned fish shops close by that give me credit and such for babies. Sals are for sure my favorite mid sized cichlid
