Just wondering what the best, most nutritious frozen food is. Can't believe bloodworms have just 6% protein. There's gotta be something a lot better for fish.

Hard to say for sure. A lot of frozen stuff is vitamin fortified. I like to feed as much variety as possible. That way you are more likely to be getting what your fish need. Also depends on the particular fish and it's nutritional needs. Not all are the same.

Where did you get that info?

The actual answer is varying the food options is the key. You don't rely on one food alone. It has to be varied in order for your fish to obtain the much needed nutrients not available exclusively in one food itself.

I got the 6% protein number from the label on a pack of Hikari frozen bloodworms. I figure if Hikari worms only have 6% then other companies can't do much better and bw is pretty much low protein for every company.

Ya but thats only because frozen food is like 80% water in the package. After you thaw it out in the aquarium bloodworms have several times more protein than pelleted foods, percent it only relative.

Im not sure the exact percent, but after the bloodworms have dethawed its probably closer to 50-60% protein, maybe more. It onyl says 6% because thats the number relative to the amount of water in the food, and there is a LOT of water. If you were to look at actual grams of protein it would be much higher than nearly all other aquarium foods.
