Whats the "normal" price for mono's ?

I am curious to see what the normal rate for mono peacock bass is....

The reason I am asking is because I was looking at american cichlids site and they
have some listed for $115 and it seemed a bit pricey ( I copied and pasted this from their site ) I was thinking they maybe good sized but he didn't list their sizes, any ideas ?

Rapps has tank bred for $35 per @ 4-5". Dan's are wild caught and I am not sure of the significance of "Napo" collection point (?). And as you noted, there is not a size indicated. Call her, or send her a note, she will tell you.
 
Yea def pricey. But then as for a going rate , you would have to factor your location ,quality, and availability. For example in my area their available all day between 12-40 bucks . In the UK they have an extremely hard time getting them so the price must be easy in the $100 and up range. As far as americancichlids their usually pretty good price wise and to deal with. So I would have to imagine theres some info missing there. To justify the price
 
YOU MIGHT AS WELL ORDER SOMNE BAHIA KELBS FROM RAPPS AT THAT PRICE....MONO IN SOCAL IS 20 BUCKS...BUT HARD TO FIND TRUE MONOS AS MOST ARE FARMIE HYBRIDS UNLESS THEY ARE FROM A RELIABLE SOURCE. YOU COULD GET ORINOS CHEAPER WHICH YOU HAVE WHICH ARE MUCH MORE SOUGHT AFTER THAN MONOS...AT THE END OF THE DAY IT IS WHAT YOU ARE HAPPY WITH.
 
I just asked Dan Ye what the ML and Napo meants as well on ACA. I bought a 10in mono at a LFS for $30 and a 3 to 4in for $25, but thta particular store doesnt give much on trade ins thats why the big one was so cheap. Too bad my Atabapo 1 pikes killed it, it was gorgeous.
 
I paid $60.00 for mine 5 yrs ago at 4'' wild caught peruvians and was told they were a pair. I got lucky they were. What size Mono's are you trying to get? Size will also play a role on the price. If I had to sell my f1 I would not take less then $250.00 but it's 10'' and 100% Peru Mono.

The reason why I was looking around at some different peacocks to go with my orino's and guyana occels as a christmas present from my wife , but after some thinking she was going to let me spend 600-700 and thought shoot for that kind of money I could get Another couple hundred gallon tank ! so I think thats what I am gonna try and do will keep everyone posted .
 
Size wasn't really important to me as I have a couple 55 gallon grow out tanks that are running fully Cycled I have some danios and other "small" misc . fish in there just to keep them cycled ....

I had seen rapps has his mono's 4-4.5 inchers for 35 ... and when I seen the 115 on american cichlids site it blew me away is all and wasn't sure if their mono's was rare ( even though they had them listed as common) or what happened ....
