What's the pH out of your tap?

Also ammonia? My pH is 8.0 in new jersey. But it drops when put in my driftwood infested tank.

Mine is pH is 7.2

Tap water is pressurised and cntains dissolved carbonic acid. To test the pH of your tap you need to let it sit in an unpressurized container ( any cup will do) for 24 hours to let the dissolved gasses escape.

You will find very different readings 24 hours after it has sat out.
