recently lost a new pbass to what i think was the feeders i fed them. after eating it shortly seemed sick and two days later it died. what is the proper way to quarantine feeders prior to feeding.

keep them in a separate tank for a couple of weeks (at least 2 IMO). Keep the tank bare, the water clean, feed well, and keep an eye on them, removing the sickly ones

Breeding your own is much safer, or just use none at all.

First and foremost I'd treat them with an anti internal parasite med. You may also want to treat your own fish periodically if you're feeding live feeders.

The other thing is to quarantine them long enough to make sure no visible signs of disease show up.

You are still taking a risk either way, there is no way to completely guarantee feeders are free of disease unless you breed them yourself. If you haven't already tried getting your fish onto pellets, frozen or other prepared foods then I suggest you start now.

well im in the process of breeding my own. "male convict+female convict+water!" but i havnt got any babies yet. and i do have wild pbass, thats what the lfs said.

actually just went to feed today and i see some new babies in the convict tank! so im one step closer to not buying feeders anymore. but onion01 what size tank would i need for keeping 3dozen feeders?
