I have a 60 gallon tank and all those IT datnoids on sale make me want to fill it up with all dats.

I just put in the water today and I want to cycle the tank as quickly as possible. What's the best way to quickly and safely cycle a 60 gallon tank? I can't wait to feed my IT datnoid fix!:drool:

Seeding.

Take sponges from the filter of an already established tank and put them in a nylon sock or something and float them in the tank. The Bactria will spread and collect in the new filter system.

i know others will say differently, but i like and have had great success with Cycle

You can also put gravel from an already cycled tank or some water from a cycled tank.

Just make sure the tank is healthy and doesnt have any bacteria or infections.

good luck.

I've used bio-spira years ago and it worked fine in more than one occasion. Nowadays, I'll just add some filter media from an established filter into the one on the uncycled tank.

BIO SPIRA, why doesnt anyone suggest this , put this in , then fish and its cycled ... done

They dont make it anymore...its now under the tetra safestart name....and I have used that several times with good results so far. If you add it make sure you add as much as it calls for and you have to have some fish in there to keep the cycle going untill the dats arrive.

using some material from an existing established tank,do a fishless cycle dosing with pure ammonia.
